RECOVERY was the result of a lenghty process with SAOL Women’s Project, where Barry O’Connor and I worked with the women to make a film that would tell the story of recovery, often neglected in favor of more dramatic tales of addiction. Early on we knew the weight of their experiences couldn’t be contained by the traditional form so we set out to make a form that would do them justice.
